There are four different types of licensing/permissions granted by Shawnee Press, Inc.
- Reprint Permission
- this is used for photocopying, reprinting, or
arranging words and/or music. Print permissions for
Shawnee Press are administered by Hal Leonard
Corporation.
- Mechanical License
-
this is used for all permissions to make an audio
recording (tape or CD) of a composition/arrangement
owned by Shawnee Press. To obtain a Mechanical License
for a composition/arrangement controlled by Shawnee
Press, please contact The Harry Fox Agency at
www.harryfox.com. Click on “HFA
Songfile” on the home page for complete instructions
for a mechanical license.
If the song title(s) you wish
to license cannot be found in HFA’s database, please try
all likely variations of the title as well as searches
under the writer’s name. If all such attempts to locate
the song in HFA’s system have been exhausted, please

- Performance License
- this is used for performance events, but is not
necessary for performance in church worship services.
